Vodafone puts up 1m euro price pot for Europes best mobile app

Got a great  mobile app idea? if so you can be in with a chance to win up to 100k euros with Vodafone in their new Europes best mobile app competition.

This is the second year that Vodafone holds the best app competition, offering a total price pot of 1million euros. Last year it was Smartrunner, a sports app that geo-tracks your runs and helps you stay in shape that ran away with the top price, and this year it could be you if you have the best app idea.

Vodafone which have just announced a deal with mobile geo-social app Foursquare is working hard to try and get more strong dedicated apps for their phone range. The new competition is open to all developers around the world with a deadline of 31st March, so you better move fast to make the deadline.

Although the competition is open to developers around the world, the respective app entries have to be done in one of 8 European markets, which include Greece, UK, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain. The top entry in each of these markets will make it to the final, as well as receive 25k euros, with a chance to increase that to 100k euros if they win the final 8 as well. There is also price money for the second and third best apps in each of the 8 markets of 15k and 10k euros respectively.

The top 8 apps in  the final will be put up to a public vote, with the winner adding 75k euros to their previous price money, so if you got a great app idea you better get moving to in it to win it.
