Wound magazine launches iPhone magazine app at Institute of Contemporary Arts
By admin • Aug 11th, 2009 • Category: Third party applicationsThe famous Wound magazine, which covers the world of edginess and originality through work that inspires in art, fashion, architecture and design, launched their summer issue recently at the Institute of Contemporary Arts across three different media; print, digital, and their iWound iPhone app.
iWound which is the iPhone application version is now available to download for a small charge at the iTunes App Store. The application provides an innovative and nice way to deliver the content and style of the magazine to the iPhone and iPod Touch users out there. Through the application you are able to access all the beautiful photography and articles from the magazine, and in addition it gives you access to video and music content as well, all keeping to the style and quality expected from Wound.
The theme for the first iWound edition is the same as for the magazine; “La Grande illusion”. The edition showcases an eclectic range of creative talents from all over the world. You will find in depth articles on the German based electro artist Peaches, Belgian pig tattooist Wim Delvoye (great images), and many other great features from the world of fashion, art, design, and architecture.
The application allows you to pick the themed cover that you like the most, view full articles in text readers, and access exclusive video content on Wound Digital (the website). After having a look at the iWound application my favourite feature was probably the “The Urban Forrest” by Stephen Witherford, covering the architects proposal to rethink the public spaces Southwark, London’s bankside area.
UK visitors can download the iWound application from iTunes App Store today for under £3 - click here
