Create artwork on your iPhone or iPod Touch with Brushes application
By admin • Jan 21st, 2009 • Category: Third party applicationsThis is the iPhone and iPod Touch application that all creative souls have been waiting for. The Brushes Application is the latest addition to the iTunes App Store that allows you to explore your creative side by generating paintings/images right there on your iPod Touch or iPhone screen.
Brushes is a natural media painting application that turns the screen of your iPod Touch or iPhone into a blank canvas for you to create your masterpiece on. The application offers a variety or realistic brush styles, an advanced color picker, a gallery view, and plenty of undo and redo options, ensuring that you can adjust your masterpiece until you get it perfect, just like any professional artist.
At the moment the Brushes App features 3 different brushes ranging in style from smooth to bristly. You can choose any size between 1 and 64 pixels in diameter, giving you full control of all details of your creation. Just like you have become accustomed to with the iPod Touch and the iPhone, zooming in and out on your artwork is just a pinch away. The potential zoom is 400% and when zoomed in just drag with two fingers to pan.
Here is a tutorial video on the Brushes applicaton that is currently on YouTube.
There is also a dedicated Brushes Flickr group where users are encouraged to display their artwork. Among those currently showcasing their artwork on the groups is one of Walt Disneys art directors, Stephane Kardos.
The Brushes App for iPhone and iPod Touch is compatible with those running the 2.0 software update, and it costs £2.99 at the iTunes App Store.
