If you are at CES 2014 in Las Vegas these days you are likely to find a myriad of bluetooth speakers. Amongst the more interesting ones based on previous releases are the new additions from Soundfreaq, including the Double Spot and the Pocket Kick.
Soundfreaq has delivered some great bluetooth speakers at past CES shows, including the Sound Kick, which I gave a top rating for its value for money. This year they are delivering an even more compact version in the Pocket Kick. Barely much wider than the iPhone 5S, the Pocket Kick fits nicely in your hand, your pocket, or your bag, taking on tough competition, including the Jawbone Mini Jambox. Besides featuring a rechargeable battery, the Pocket Kick features custom designed stereo drivers with a total power output of 5W. It also has the same kick stand feature of the Sound Kick, which allows for improved sound projection. Bluetooth 4.0 technology is included as well as 3.5mm input for wired connection.
Soundfreaq has also doubled up on another fan favourite, turning the Spot speaker into a Double Spot. Although it comes with a rechargeable battery option, the Double Spot is a wireless bluetooth speaker for the home. The design is more retro inspired, especially in the white and wooden finish version. On the inside there are dual stereo drivers with a total power output of 10W and UQ3 spatial sound enhancement technology. Again they are using the latest in Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless streaming and 3.5mm line in for wired connection.
In addition they are bringing an updated bluetooth version of the Sound Rise alarm clock speaker, bringing the full bedroom experience, including dual alarm clock.
More information on each speaker to come later on.
