Sony has delivered some great and popular iPod speaker docks over the years, and with their latest additions they promise to bring improved sound thanks to using magnetic fluid instead of the more traditional speaker dampers.
In what some would say is an overcrowded speaker dock market standing out from the crowd can be difficult. Often it is done through design, but with their two new speaker docks Sony is doing it by using a new technology in the speakers. Both the Sony CMT-V75BTiP and CMT-V50iP features magnetic fluid speakers, allowing them to make the speaker docks thinner, as well as providing a higher quality sound reproduction (according to Sony themselves).
Both models are iOS compatible, which means you can dock any iOS device (unfortunately no AirPlay) as well as featuring DAB/DAB+ digital radio and CD player for those of us that still have an extensive CD collection. The CMT-V75BTiP model also has bluetooth streaming capabilities. The CMT-V50iP also has USB port allowing you to connect other music sources to the speaker.
Both of the new Sony speaker docks are reported to be available around the end of April, but no pricing is available as of yet. I will be back with more details when available, in the mean time you can check out other Sony speaker docks here.
