Lets face it, we all would love to limit the number of wires needed to connect our technology, and not to mention having access to your library of music where ever you are in your house without dragging wires between systems and speakers from room to room. That is where Sonos products comes into play.

The Sonos Play:5 allows you to play music wirelessly throughout your house, either by having interlinked Zoneplayers that are attached to your existing speakers in different rooms, or by having the Play:5 which is a all-in-one wireless sound system.

Sound and features

Sonos Play:5 comes packed with a 5 driver speaker system that is individually powered by 5 digital amplifiers. There are 2 tweeters, 2 mid range drivers, and 1 subwoofer, ensuring that you get a high quality sound without the need for a larger more spacious sound system.

Combine the above speaker configuration with all filter settings, active equalization, and state of the art DSP circuitry to ensure no loss of audio quality.

Streaming your iTunes library of music has never been easier then now. With the Sonos Play:5 you can get access to up to 16 pc’s, macs, or network attached storage devices. In addition to your own iTunes library you can also get access to more than 100,000 radio stations as well as online music services such as Deezer, iheartradio, Last.fm, Napster®, Pandora®, Rhapsody®, SIRIUS® Internet Radio, Spotify®, Wolfgang’s Vault®, and downloads from any service offering DRM-free tracks.

So how does the Sonos Play:5 work

It is really simple as all you have to do to start streaming the music from your iTunes, Spotify, or other digital music source is to connect it to your router through a ethernet cable. If you have multiple Zoneplayers then you just have to connect one to the router and the rest will work wirelessly, even when in different rooms.

You can easily control the music and the system through either your computer, your iPhone or iPad through the dedicated Sonos app that can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store for free, or using Sonos Controller 200.
