Afraid you might be running out of iPhone 5 rumors to catch up on over the weekend? Fear not, here are the latest from the rumor mill.
Apple and China Mobile to bring iPhone to worlds largest carrier
According to a recent CapitalVue model report, Apple has struck a deal with the worlds largest mobile carrier China Mobile to bring the iPhone to the company’s 600 million customers. If their sources are correct, which is of course unconfirmed, it means that the iPhone 4 will become available in October followed by the iPhone 5 and an iPhone 4G LTE model based on carriers TD-LTE standard (source: Macrumors).
If a deal is in place with China Mobile, then my predicted 150 million iPhones sold in 2012 might be an underestimate.
Second iPhone 5 spyshot – real or fake?
We will let you take a look at the image first so you can make up your mind.
While this photo looks much brighter and clearer than the previous one, there is no certainty that it is real. It seems to have many of the same traits as the iPhone 4, except it is slimmer and with somewhat curved corners/edges. One of the things that makes me think it is a fake is the lack of a mute switch and volume rocker on the left side.
Conclusion for now is that this one is a fake.
Low-end iPhone 4S will have to be a category killer
A note from RBC Capital Markets analyst Mike Abramsky (source: Appleinsider) hints at Apple requiring the much rumored iPhone 4S / iPhone Lite to be a “innovative, category-killer experience”. No kidding!
It is believed that the pre-paid market represents two-thirds of the global mobile phone market, and one that Apple really wants to get their hands on. It is also a key to growth in the important Chinese market.
That rounds off the iPhone 5 weekend goodies, but i will be back next week with more of the latest. Have a good weekend!
