In my opinion, Sennheiser has always delivered some of the best quality for money headphones in the market, but lets face it, they are not always the most fashionable looking headphones. With headphones being as much an identity statement as a way to listen to your music these days, they seem to have taken that onboard with the new Momentum on-ear headphones in a range of pastel colours.
While I hope that Sennheiser never downplays the importance of sound performance, it is good to see some more ‘lively’ versions of their popular headphones. In their marketing material for the new range, they still emphasize their commitment to ‘uncompromising stereo sound’ while delivering it in a smaller, more portable, and colorful package compared to the original Momentum headphones.
The new Sennheiser Momentum on-ear headphones is available in shades of pink, green, blue, and ivory, colours that have been handpicked to reflect the current and future catwalk trends. It sounds like Sennheiser is targeting more females as well with this new range. Build quality looks promising, with the use of a lightweight stainless steel frame and soft alcantara cushioning. The headphone cable is detachable for ease of storage and transport, and it comes with integrated microphone and 3-button controls.
Given the move to an on-ear design instead of the originals over-ear design, Sennheiser have also been able to cut the price point of the new Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear to £169 / $230, making them more comparable, and competitive, with other popular and more fashionable headphones in the market.
The Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear headphones are available now from amongst other the below UK retailers.
