The Pioneer X-SMC22-S is part of the new range of Pioneer slimline micro systems that comes with the new Apple Lightning dock, support amongst other the new iPhone models. But this system has more tricks up its sleeves than just docking.
Design wise the X-SMC22-S is very similar to earlier models, with the main difference being the Lightning dock instead of the old 30-pin dock. The docking station is only revealed when pushing on the lower end of the middle section of the speaker. Unlike the big brother X-SMC55-S, this model does not have WiFi, AirPlay, or DLNA, but Pioneer have included Bluetooth streaming as a wireless option. There is also USB port (can be used with amongst other iPads), FM radio, and a vertical positioned CD player that supports MP3 and WMA files.
