Day 1 and 30,000 Orange iPhones sold in UK

Orange started selling the iPhone 3GS in the UK today, and according to a communications employee from Orange UK on Twitter, they have sold an incredible 30,000 devices on their first day of trading the iPhone in the UK.

Now it is unclear if that includes pre-sales but still, 30,000 is a very impressive number for the first day of sales, and hopefully they will have stock to be able to keep up with demand in the coming weeks leading up to Christmas.

There is no official sales figures for first day sales of the iPhone 3GS on O2 when it came out this summer so we can’t make a comparison of performance.
