New images have leaked online showing what is believed to be the next iPad 5 which Apple is expected to announce alongside the new iPad Mini 2 at a media event on the 22nd October (all rumours at this stage).
These new images does not really tell a different story than earlier “leaks”, as we are still looking at a device that is incorporating elements from the iPad Mini in design features, as well as the new iPhone 5S when it comes to color options (pictures show space grey iPad). What is apparent from these clearer images is that, should this be the iPad 5, it’s a device that is much thinner than the current iPad 4, and on that basis it’s also likely to be lighter.

As always, at this stage these are unconfirmed images, so they might not represent the real deal. That said, all the leaked images over the last month or so seem to tell the same story. Hopefully we will know for sure on the 22nd October (a date that is also to be confirmed).
On a final note, is it just me or does it feel like Apple is starting to loose some of that tight control that they used to have ahead of new product releases? Just thinking about how representative of the final products the early leaks of iPhone 5S and 5C were. Give us your thoughts by leaving a comment below.
