Finally iTunes movies for UK movie lovers
By admin • Jun 5th, 2008 • Category: Music and itunesBBC recently reported that Apple will be starting to offer movies for renting or purchasing through iTunes in the UK.
This is a service that has been available in the US for a while now, but now it will also come to the UK. In the beginning they will offer about 700 titles, including about 100 in high-definition. Many of the titles will be available for download on iTunes the same day as they go on sale on DVD in stores, and will include titles such as ‘I am Legend’, ‘Hitman’ and ‘National Treasure 2′.
The price for new releases will be £10.99 to buy and £3.49 to rent, while movies from the library will be available to buy for £6.99 and rent for £2.49.
For those renting movies they have 30 days to watch the movie after downloading, and once they have started watching it they have 48 hours to finish it.
There is however plenty of competition for iTunes, and not only from torrents and piracy, but also from Amazon, Netflix, Blockbuster and Microsoft.
