Whilst we in the UK have enjoyed a longer bank holiday weekend the iPhone 5 rumor mill has stayed busy, with new ‘information’ about the design of the iPhone 5 leaking, and iPhone N94 prototype front assembly making an appearance.
iPhone N94 / iPhone 4S front assembly
Engadget is today reporting, with images, on what is believed to the front assembly of the iPhone N94, which is believed to be the so called iPhone 4S aka the rumored iPhone 4 8GB which will be the lower cost option for iPhone-hungry consumers around the world.
They have received the images from uBreakiFix, but as always there is very little information as to the validity of the images and what they are actually parts of.
iPhone 5 with metal chassis and sub 4-inch screen
Based on all the rumors the iPhone 5 will have anything between the current 3.5-inch screen up to a 4.2-inch screen, and it will be made from curved glass or some sort of metal. Yes, we can all hold our hands up and safely say that we are all just speculating based on more or less reliable sources of information, with nothing getting confirmed or denied by Apple.
The latest iPhone 5 news to make the rounds comes courtesy of Digitimes (via BGR), whose sources within the Apple supply chain claims that the iPhone 5 screen will be no more than 4-inches, and will feature a metal chassis that will replace the iPhone 4 glass casing.
The sources added that the iPhone 5 will adopt a 3.5- to 3.7-inch panel with a design to allow the bezel of the panel to become thinner and make the screen look larger.
The only more or less certain thing about the iPhone 5 at the moment is that it will arrive at some point, and likely the thinner, lighter, and faster, thanks to the A5 processor that can already be found in the iPad 2.
I will be back with more on the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S as and when it becomes available.
