Most soundbars these days are known for their wide design to work perfectly in combination with a flatscreen TV for example, and the Monitor Audio ASB-2 is no exception, around a meter wide, designed to be a centerpiece in your home audio with the ability to connect up to 3 HDMI sources amongst other. There is also an HDMI output port for 1080p/3D video passthrough. The ASB-2 is also versatile in how it can be placed, with an optional wall mount available.
There seems to be plenty of power in the ASB-2 soundbar as well, including dual 5.5-inch bass drivers, 4-inch C-Cam midrange drivers, dual 1-inch tweeters, all powered by 5 amps that combined deliver 160W power output. Should you require some extra bass, you can also connect an external subwoofer through the RCA LFE output at the back of the soundbar.
Besides HDMI inputs, optical and coaxial digital inputs, and analogue RCA, the ASB-2 soundbar can take a variety of streaming options, including Apple AirPlay, AirPlay Direct, UPnP, and DLNA using the units Wi-Fi connection. That should have most audio devices covered.
The Monitor Audio ASB-2 soundbar is expected to hit UK market this September, retailing at around £1000.
