CAD mockups of an iPhone 5 case design from a Chinese manufacturer could be another hint at what the iPhone 5 might look like, and it is line with earlier iPhone 5 mock up designs and rumored features.
It is Mobilefun.co.uk that has posted the images from the Chine case manufacturers, and should they be legit, it will give us a good idea of what the new iPhone 5 will look like as well as some of the potential new features, including a larger 4-inch screen.
The design of the case hints at Apple moving away from the current iPhone 4 design and back to a more curved back design, similar to that of the iPad 2. We might also see that the bottom part of the iPhone 5 will be slimmer than the top part, in line with some earlier concept designs that was received with mixed feedback.
A larger screen has been much discussed online since rumors around the iPhone 5 first surfaced, so for Apple to move towards a 4-inch screen would not come as a big surprise as long as they can manage it within the current design constraints as they would not want to make the iPhone any bigger than it currently is. The case design hints at earlier rumors that Apple will utilize bezel space to make room for the larger 4-inch screen.
Interestingly the case design hints at a larger home button, which could be the gesture based feature that we have heard about earlier. The volume buttons also seem to have been moved further down on the unit, something that could have been done to better support the use of the button for taking photos, a feature that is part of iOS 5.
