The wait is finally over as Apple has today announced that they will be holding their annual iPod and Music event early this year, on the 1st September to be precise at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco.

Apple’s iPod and Music event will kick off at 10am PDT on the 1st September, and it is believed that the main event will be Apple announcing the new 4th generation iPod Touch 4 with camera and lots of new great features.
The rumours around the iPod Touch 4 has been going for months now as our loyal readers will already know. Anything other than a camera and Retina display for the new iPod Touch will be considered a letdown.
But it is not only the iPod Touch that are on the schedule as we also expect updates to other iPod models, including the Nano and perhaps a touchscreen Shuffle, or a brand new touchscreen model. We are hoping for a few interesting surprises at this event, including the new Apple TV, or iTV as it has been rumoured to be renamed as.
We might also see Apple releasing the latest iPhone iOS 4.1 which has been in beta for developers since the launch of the iPhone 4 earlier this summer, a release that hopefully will fix some of the issues people have experienced since iOS 4.1 was released.
Perhaps more of a long-shot for this event is the rumored Apple iPad Mini, a smaller 7-inch version of the current Apple iPad, that some believe are due to hit the markets before Christmas this year.
We will keep you updated will all the latest from the Apple iPod and Music event as it happens on the 1st September from 10am PDT.
