Will we see a price drop on the iPod Touch?
By admin • Jun 10th, 2008 • Category: Lead Story, iPhone, iPod TouchFollowing the launch yesterday of the new 3G iPhone, where perhaps the biggest surprise was the price point which in the UK will be about £100 for the 8gb and somewhere between £150 and £200 for the 16gb, we have to ask ourselves whether or not there will be a price drop coming on the iPod Touch soon.
Of course one has to consider that on top of the price of the new 3g iPhone there will also be a monthly network fee to O2 which will probably be in the £5o plus range per month, still it makes the iPhone a very enticing prospect for anyone that might have been considering buying an iPod Touch. Currently the iPod Touch 16gb is selling for about £215 through Amazon UK, which means that the new iPhone will actually be cheaper when it comes on the market in early July. Not only that, but you also get a phone with all the latest upgrades included, while most likely you will have to pay for the software upgrade, again, on the iPod Touch.
We hope that Apple will be reading our wishlist for a new iPod Touch in the near future, and in the mean time we need to see a price drop on the iPod Touch.
