Ahead of the October 4th iPhone event a few new version of products have appeared in Apple inventory systems, including three new iPod Touch SKUs labeled under codename N81a (current iPod Touch 4 is labeled N81).
It is 9to5mac sources that have revealed this information ahead of the media event. Given the label number similarity it is believed that these 3 new SKUs represent the rumored white version of the current iPod Touch in 8, 32 and 64gb. Whilst a white version of the current iPod Touch model at the moment is the more likely scenario, we could also be talking about a new iPod Touch 5 with some interior upgrades, hence the addition of the ‘a’ behind the N81 label. Perhaps an even more optimistic view would be that N81a represents a 3G version of the iPod Touch, at this stage the most unlikely scenario.
What do you think lies behind the N81a codename? Let us know below.
