Sony SRS-V500IP travel mug iPod speaker system – No hot beverage!

We have come across some interesting looking iPod speaker docks over the last few years, and the Sony SRS-V500IP iPod speaker dock is no exception.

At first glance you might think that this is nothing but an iPod charging station that has been combined with a coffee travel mug holder, but this travel mug does not contain any hot beverage, but is rather packed with Sony’s 360 degree “Circle Sound Stage” system, spreading the audio from the 16W stereo speakers.

The speaker mug can be un-docked and will sit nicely in your cars cup holder or your backpacks bottle holder for that on-the-go portable sound, and it can be connected to a car charger as well. If only you could take it into your local Starbucks and get a free refill of hot beverage as well this would have been a guaranteed winner as a portable iPod speaker dock.
