There are some high quality table-top DAB speaker docks in the market at the moment, including the Vita Audio R4i and Roberts Sound MP53 DAB, but you can also add the Pure Avanti Flow table-top digital music system to the list.
The Pure Avanti Flow is a complete table-top digital music system, perhaps with the exception of Apple AirPlay and bluetooth streaming, but you will find pretty much everything else included. From the traditional top mounted docking station that supports most iPods and iPhone models (no iPad support) to DAB/DAB+, internet radio through the wifi connection, and media streaming from PC/Mac on the same network as long as it has a some kind of UPnP server software running. So there are plenty of listening options for music fans out there.
When it comes to design the Pure Avanti Flow does not quite measure up with the Vita Audio R4i in my book. Then again it is about half the price as well and it is far from being an ugly system. Its shape and size makes it a versatile table-top system, which is important if you don’t have a specific setting you want to use it in, or perhaps want to have a system that can be moved around. The front LCD display makes it easy to see song/media info, and there are plenty of easy-to-use controls located at the top in front of the docking station itself.
On the inside you will find two full range 3-inch drivers + a 5 1/4-inch down firing subwoofer that combined provides 75W RMS power output (2 x 20W + 35W) from high-quality class D amplifiers, so the system packs a good punch. First impression of the sound is also impressive, so i understand why the system got the Product of the Year 2010 from WhatHiFi.
