By admin • Sep 29th, 2008 • Category: iPod Speaker Docks

The well known speaker producer Boston Acoustic is perhaps mostly famous for their in car speaker systems, but they have also created some iPod speaker docks that is worthy of mention; the Boston Acoustic iDS2 and the clock radio/iPod speaker dock Horizon Duo-i.

Boston Acoustic Horizon Duo-iLets start with the Boston Acoustic Horizon Duo-i clock radio, which received rave redommendations from iLounge when they tested it for being one of the first iPod clock radios that delivered quality sound. You can read the full review from iLounge here, or you can buy it from Amazon UK for £151.

The new Boston Acoustic iDS2 is sort of a sequal to the Horizon Duo-i, except for the alarm clock, and features what you come to expect from Boston Acoustic designers and sound experts, clean class that delivers a crisp and powerful sound for its size. Not had the chance to fully review and test it ourselves, we have to rely on information from those Boston Acoustic iDS2who have, and the concensus seems to be that it is a good system, but that there might be better value for money available with other iPod dock systems, as the Boston Acoustic iDS2 retails at about $180 (£100 or so).

The breakdown of the Boston Acoustic iDS2 is; 60 watts of power, infrared remote control, USB socket, and a normal jack plug should you need to run it from something other than an iPod, in which case you might want to check our best price iPod tables.
