Who will win the White House iPod battle
By admin • Aug 14th, 2008 • Category: Apple iPod, artist ipod playlistWith the Democratic and Republican conventions just around the corner, Blender.com have had a chance to get Barack Obama and John McCain’s top ten song list from their iPod’s.
A while back Rolling Stone magazine did an in depth interview with Democratic candidate Barack Obama where he shared some of his musical influences, and what turned out to be a well rounded list of legendary artists, including Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen.
Here are the respective candidates lists:
Barack Obama Top Ten iPod Playlist
- Ready or not - Fugees
- Whats going on - Marvin Gaye
- I’m on fire - Bruce Springsteen
- Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones
- Sinnerman - Nina Simone
- Touch the sky - Kanye West
- You’d be so easy to love - Frank Sinatra
- Think - Aretha Franklin
- City of blinding lights - U2
- Yes we can - Will i.am
John McCain Top Ten iPod Playlist
- Dancing queen - Abba
- Blue Bayou - Roy Orbison
- Take a chance on me - Abba
- If we make it through December - Merle Haggard
- As time goes by - Dooley Wilson
- Good vibrations - Beach Boys
- What a wonderful world - Louis Armstrong
- I’ve got you under my skin - Frank Sinatra
- Sweet Carolina - Neil Diamond
- Smoke gets in your eyes - The Platters
It looks like old blue eyes, Frank Sinatra, is the only one that has the honour of make both lists. Other than that their age clearly shines through, as well as their target audience.
As for us we have to declare a clear victory for Barack Obama as we find his list filled with a lot more quality then his opponent John McCain (not a fan of Abba!). So based on music we have to declare Obama as the winner by a landslide.
