The Purple One - The Prince of iPods costs gold
By admin • Apr 16th, 2009 • Category: Apple iPodIf you are a big fan of the Prince aka the purple one and have a lot of spare cash lying around, then you might want to consider getting one of these limited edition Prince Opus iPod from British publishing company Kraken Opus.
There are only 950 of the special edition purple iPod’s available in the world that comes with a 40 minute feature movie from Prince “21 nights tour” in London in 2007, and a live soundtrack from his “Indigo Nights” album. On top of that the Prince Opus iPod comes as part of a 17kg heavy package that features the “Prince 21 nights opus” book of photography from Randee St. Nicholas that also features lyrics and poem by Prince himself. The purple iPod with its features, together with the heavy book of over 200 pages, comes packed in a velvet case at a price of $2,100 - not for average Joe or indeed for the average Prince fan.
According to the CEO of Kraken Opus they have already sold 1/3 of the Purple One iPod packages and that there are definately an interest in the marketplace for premium content, even in these tough economic times.
At the moment the Prince Opus iPod is the only package that comes with a special edition iPod, but apparently the company is working on a similar product around a Ferrari book, that also will come with a GPS microchip that will allow you to track it the same way as you would your Ferrari should it somehow be “lost”.
UK readers might be interested to hear that the company does offer a 0% finance option for customers in the UK - it helps at least!
