Kanye West on President Obama; as avant-garde as the invention of the iPod

By admin • Jan 21st, 2009 • Category: Apple iPod

Kanye West has never been shy about saying his opinion, whether it has been declaring that after attending one of his concerts all future concert experiences will be bleak in comparison (as witnessed at his Manchester gig), or as yesterday, comparing Barack Obama’s Presidency to the iPod (source: Gigwise.com)

Kanye West was in Washington DC for the Inaugural Youth Ball, an event that recognised how Barack Obama’s bid for presidency had brought the youth of America together, both to celebrate the new President of the United States and to perform a medley of his own hits.

A presidential iPodBefore performing he addressed the crowd, explaining what a magnificent moment this was in American history, and how proud his late mother would have been, seeing him being number one in the charts and the United States finally having an African American President in Barack Obama.

Kanye West’s short medley included hits such as ‘Touch the sky’, ‘Stronger’ and his latest hit ‘heartless’. President Obama and the first lady also made a brief apperance at the Youth Ball, sharing their first dance together as America’s first family.

Kanye West told MTV at the event; “I still can’t believe it. I feel like i’m in the future. First iPod’s and now this.”

Lets all hope that President Obama will be as successfull as the iPod itself in his politics, and in changing the world. In the mean time you can check out the Barack Obama presidential iPod playlist here - not a bad one either.
