iPods invading the academic world
By admin • Jun 5th, 2008 • Category: Apple iPodThe Telegraph today has reported that selected UK universities are implementing the iPod in an attempt to make the universities more accessible.This is a system that has already been tried and tested in the US by leading institutions of education like Stanford and Yale, and now it will be tested by University College of London and the Open University. The way it works is that universities will make educational material available through the iTunes U network to allow students to access educational material for free on their iPod.
This is done in an attempt to make higher education more accessible for everyone, and follows actions for the universities to combat students dropping out or not being able to follow lectures. Currently the Open University has made more than 300 video and audio files available for downloading to iPod, mac or PC.
If only this had come a few years earlier, then i would not have had to get up so early to catch that morning lecture!
