iPod and Nike changing the gym scene + reply from Samsung and Adidas

By admin • Mar 9th, 2008 • Category: Apple iPod, nike+

In the Apple news last week there was a lot of talk about new developments and cooperation between Apple and Nike on the integration of the ipod into peoples workout schedules.

They have now together been pushing the gym equipment producers to start creating equipment that will further integrate the Nike+ and the ipod into peoples workout. This will be through allowing the Nike+ range to communicate with the treadmill and other gym equipment for example, to then upload into your ipod or onto your online Nike profile for monitoring your training progress.

The new equipment is expected to hit gyms in the UK by late summer, so start preparing your training schedule and start challenging some friends with Nike+.

In other news, Adidas and Samsung has been cooperating to challenge Apple and Nike’s hold on peoples training monitoring. The miCoach combines the Samsung mobile phone with an Adidas heartrate monitor and a stride sensor to monitor your workout. There is no doubt they have quite the challenge catching up with the Nike+ range.
