iTunes App Store reaches milestone of half a billion app downloads

There are now over 15,000 applications available for iPhone and iPod Touch users to download, and growing every day in all categories, from games to business applications. This has so far resulted in over half a billion downloaded applications for the iPhone and iPod Touch, a massive figure that is sure to grow further as more and more applications are accepted onto the iTunes App store every day.
The 500 million application download milestone comes only 6 months after the opening of the iTunes App Store, showing the enourmous popularity of the iPhone and iPod Touch among users all over the world.
We are going to make a bold prediction and say that it will not be more than 3 months more until the iTunes App Store will have surpassed a billion downloads.
