Removable storage product manufacturer Imation Corp has announced that they have acquired consumer electronics and iPod accessories producer Xtreme Accessories LLC, better known by the brand name Xtrememac according to RTTNews.
Xtrememac which is well renowned for producing consumer electronics products, especially for the iPod with products such as the Xtrememac Tango X2 iPod stereo dock and the iPod alarm clock dock Luna X2 + a large variety of other iPod accessories. It is reported that Imation is paying $9 million for nearly all the assets in Xtrememac.
According to the source, Imation sees this as a great acquisition that will further strenghten their position in the consumer electronics market, and especially towards iPod users.
