iPhone 3G owners experiencing shorter battery life with OS 3.0

A lot of iPhone 3G owners have upgraded to the new iPhone OS 3.0 over the last few weeks, and after a lot of initial problems with accessing the upgrade etc. reports are now starting to come in that the new iPhone OS 3.0 is also draining the iPhone 3G for battery.

The iPhone OS 3.0 upgrade that delivered amongst other MMS and copy n paste to the iPhone 3G have increased the value of the iPhone experience, but with reports that it drains battery life a lot of users are starting to go tired of the problem of having to charge their iPhone 3G every day. So far though there has been no official statement around this from Apple, the same way as the problem with overheating has been brushed off so far as an issue due to the hot temperatur lately, claiming that the iPhone is prone to overheat when temperaturs pass 35 celcius (we should be fairly safe in the UK then!).

We are keen to hear from anyone who has experienced a drop in battery life following installing the new iPhone OS 3.0, so feel free to leave your comments to this post. Personally i have just upgraded to the 32gb iPhone 3GS, and currently struggling with sorting out temporary freezing issues that are getting quite annoying. Will posts solutions to this as soon as i have been able to sort out the issue.

    my iPhone was actually a gift from my girlfriend. i really love this phone and i think that this is the best phone that money can buy. i like the features and the design.

    I wish i didn’t upgrade it to OS 3.0. I have charging problem too.Every night it must be charged and every time it is getting hot. Apple should fix this problem as soon as possible.

    iPhone 3G is simply the best phone that i have owned. It is very stylish and its nice features. I also own an N97 but i like the iphone.
