Back when the new 3g iPhone was getting ready for its UK launch we also shared the news that it would eventually be available as an Pay-as-you-Go iPhone, and now the news according to the Times Online is that the launch date of the PAYG iPhone from O2 will be 16th September.

The new pay as you go 3g iPhone is expected to become one of the hottest christmas presents on every kid and adults christmas wishlist this year, but it will however come with a hefty price tag. The price of the PAYG iPhone from O2 will be £349.99 for the 8gb iPhone and £399.99 for the 16gb iPhone. The hefty price tag might be a stopper from making it the most popular christmas present with the wider public, but a lot of UK consumers have expressed their interest in the Pay-as-you-Go iPhone that saves them from commitment to high cost monthly contracts to get the iPhone for free.

Analysts expects queues outside the stores again on the 16th September with people interested in getting their hands on the PAYG iPhone from O2. Unfortunately you will still be stuck with O2 as your network provider as they still have the exclusive right for the UK market.
