Apple has now made the latest iOS 4.1 available to download through iTunes, which brings amongst other things the new Gamecenter and several bug fixes to the iPhone and the iPod Touch.
The release of the new iOS 4.1 was right on schedule following the announcement at the Apple Music event last week, but already many are reporting slow responding servers and long download times of the new update known as Build 8B117.
Some of the new features of iOS 4.1 include:
- Gamecenter
- High Dynamic Range (HDR) photos
- Support for TV Show rentals on iTunes
- Itunes with Ping social network on your iPhone / iPod Touch
- Ability to upload HD videos to YouTube and MobileMe over Wi-Fi
- Fixing issues such as with the proximity sensor
Personally i have not been able to upgrade yet as for some reason the download of the new iOS 4.1 fails as the file is nearly downloaded and is being verified. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
If you have a jailbroken device please be aware that upgrading to iOS 4.1 will result in loss of jailbreak and/or unlock.
