The iPhone 5C is writing Apple history, as for the first time Apple announced not just one new iPhone model, but two, including the iPhone 5C as a more affordable iPhone for the global masses. It might not be the budget phone that so many expected, but it delivers an option besides the top model iPhone.
iPhone 5C overview
The iPhone 5C brings some color to the Apple line up that has not been seen to date for anything other than the iPod range. To make it more affordable Apple has skipped on the high-end machined metal finish of the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S, instead going with a slightly cheaper to produce plastic back and sides. That does not mean that there is anything cheap about either the look or the feeling of the iPhone 5C, as it very much keeps the standard we expect from an Apple device.
Specification wise, the iPhone 5C is also very much a quality smartphone. Apple has packed in what is near the top end of their offering, including:
- Their Apple A6 chip (as also found in iPhone 5)
- 4-inch Retina display
- 4G ultra fast wireless support
- Long battery life
- iSight camera with 8mp
- 1080P HD video support
- FaceTime HD camera
- 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi (802.11n 2.4GHz and 5GHz)
- Bluetooth 4.0
As you can see, there is plenty to get excited about when it comes to the iPhone 5C.
