Over the recent months there has been a few iPhone 5 design mock ups of a possible iPhone 5, with early ones based on how the design could evolve into next generation, while more recent ones are based on leaked design specifications and iPhone 5 cases leaked out of China. Macrumors is the latest one to have some iPhone 5 design mock ups made, incorporating the different elements based on information available. Could this be the iPhone 5?
The Macrumor commissioned mock ups incorporates a larger 4-inch screen based on improved utilization of front real estate, which has been rumored for a while, as well as the wider home button that surfaced following a possible iPhone 5 case surfaced with a wider opening. It could well be that the larger button is a capacitive one, allowing for swipe controls of elements such as switching between applications.
The mock ups also include rumored features, such as the tapered edges at the back and a move away from the glass back to aluminum, making the device look a bit more like the iPod Touch. We might also see that the device will get a thinner bottom than the top.
Based on what we think we know about the iPhone 5 so far, this design mock up might be the closest to the real thing we have seen so far. However, what the real device will look like only Apple knows, and the rest of us will just have to wait and see. Perhaps we will see the real thing at the rumored Apple music event on 7th September.
