The iPhone 4 is nothing but another game changer from Apple as they have taken the design to the next level, creating another iconic piece of technology that we all want to show off to our friends.

iPhone 4 Design and features
The design has received an upgrade for the iPhone 4. Gone is the curvy back, replaced with a black or white tempered glass surface both for the front and the back, with sleek stainless steel rim around that also doubles as 3G and Wi-fi antenna for improved reception. Otherwise you will find all the design functions that you are used to from the iPhone.
The other main design change is of course the size of the iPhone 4, which has been made remarkably thin considering what Apple has been able to pack inside of hardware. The iPhone 4 is 34% thinner than the current iPhone 3GS, and according to sources who have had a chance to play around with it, it feels great in the hand and surprisingly light. How thin it is is even more impressive when you also know that Apple has increased the battery.
You will still find that most of the functionality is controlled through the home button, while at the top you will find the usual headphone jack, and the power on/off/sleep button. New is the additional noise cancelling microphone. The volume control on the left hand now features two round buttons. On the right hand side you will find the MicroSim tray, and at the bottom the usual speaker, microphone, and dock connector.
The screen of the iPhone 4 is still a 3.5 inch screen, but of course it has received a significant upgrade to support a screen resolution of 960 x 640 with its “Retina Display”. The screen is LED backlit and uses IPS screen technology, same as on the Apple iPad, for that high 800:1 contrast ratio.
Another key imrovement, and one that has been on everyone’s iPhone 4 wishlist, is battery life. The battery itself has been improved, but it is also the other hardware, including the new A4 chipset, that makes the iPhone 4 less battery hungry. Without yet having had a chance to test it, the battery life according to Apple themselves should be 7 hours talk time over 3G, 6 hours 3G browsing, 10 hours video, 40 hours music, and 300 hours standby time.
And of course the improved 5 megapixel camera with LED flash that is beautifully integrated not only at the back, but this time also at the front of the camera to take advantage of Apple’s new FaceTime solution for video calling on the iPhone 4. The camera is capable of shooting video at 720p and 30fps, and you can use the built in iMovie app to edit the movie right there on your iPhone 4 before uploading and sharing with the rest of the world. The new camera won’t replace your DSLR, but it is way better than the current one on the iPhone 3GS. And with the new iPhone iOS 4 there is easy screen tap to autofocus for both images and video.
