iOS 5 notifications in the wild before WWDC

iOS 5 is one of the big announcements today as Steve Jobs makes the keynote speech at WWDC 2011, and it is expected that part of iOS 5 is improved notifications, but is this leaked picture a screenshot of an iPhone running iOS 5?

Possible iOS 5 notification picture on iPhone

It is Techcrunch that has got their hands on this picture that appears to be of an iPhone running iOS 5 as you can see a Twitter notification symbol at the top of the screen. It is rumored that iOS 5 will  come with deeper Twitter integration without any parties disclosing any further information about what might entail.

Discussions are running on the different forums and blogs as to how real this screenshot might be, and what it would mean for the potential notification solution in iOS 5. Some think it is a fake, or an example of a jailbroken notification solution, while others think this might be the real thing, although wondering how the small bar will handle lots of notifications from different  apps etc.

Hopefully we will get all the answers in the next few hours as WWDC 2011 keynote is due to start at 6pm (UK time) today. We will be bringing you all the latest as it is announced. Unfortunately it does not look like Apple will be streaming live from the event.
