Former IBM executive takes responsibility for the iPod and iPhone engineering

After Tony Fadell, better known as the father of the iPod, is taking on a different role within Apple it has been clear that former IBM vice president Mark Papermaster will take charge of the engineering team behind the iPod and the iPhone.

Mark Papermaster is currently in the midst of a legal battle with former employer IBM who has sued him over leaving the company to take a job with competitor Apple, claiming he had signed a noncompete agreement.

Then we guess the future will tell if the iPod and iPhone will win or loose from the new IBM influence on the engineering team.
