Have your friends and family started to send you videos recorded on their iPhone/iPad/iPod by email to you recently and you are wondering how to view and save the video, then you have come to the right place.
It might seem like a trivial thing to understand, but there are many out there that especially wonders how to save a video received by email into their camera roll, so we created this short tutorial outlining step by step how to do it.
Step 1: download video
When you have received an email with a video attachment you will have to tap on the video icon attachement to download the video. Depending on the size of the video and your internet speed this could take a bit of time to download.
Step 2: Open the video to view
Once the video has completely downloaded you can just tap once more on the video icon in the email and it will open the video and start playing it in the default video player. If you have a video app like VLC player installed then you can also tap and hold the tap for a while until a menu comes up asking if you want to open the video using VLC player.
Step 3: Save the video to camera roll
Either before you tap to watch the video or afterwards when it is done, go back to the email with the video attachment and click on the action button (see screenshot) at the bottom right of the screen (second icon from the right), and choose ‘save video’. This will save the video to your camera roll so you can access it later on from there as well as save it onto your computer when you sync your iOS device.
Hope you found this helpful, in which case we appreciate any comment, tweet, or like.
