Harman Kardon ready to embrace Apple AirPlay

Harman Kardon has announced that they will be unveiling an AirPlay module for their current AV receivers and for new AVR’s in the next couple of months, a sign that yet another well known audio manufacturer is embracing AirPlay technology following news that Pioneer is going AirPlay with their latest AV receivers.

Apple AirPlay is the technology that allows you to stream audio/video between your computer (iTunes) or an iOS device to a compatible system. So far there has been a limited amount of systems on the market, but it is growing as the popularity of the Apple iPhone and iPad is creating increased demand for systems that are compatible with this so far exclusive Apple technology.

JBL (a Harman Kardon company) recently released their first AirPlay speaker in the JBL On Air speaker dock, but it is good news that Harman Kardon is looking to extend their AirPlay compatibility to cover their AVR range as well.

They have also announced that the new AVR range will include DLNA certification providing the ability to stream music from any wi-fi enabled computer/device that is networked.

We are looking forward to seeing and testing the future range of Harman Kardon AirPlay enabled devices, and will be back with detailed information and reviews of models when available.
