Where is the ipod touch going? Here are some clues
By admin • Jan 24th, 2008 • Category: Apple iPod, iPodThere has been some talks around the internet about what Apple wants to do with the ipod touch, and this article from USnews.com sheds some light on what might be in store for the ipod touch.
Some people have questioned the need for the ipod touch given the release of the iphone that has most (or all) of the same functionality, but also includes the phone (all it needs is more space and a smaller design!). Apparently the ipod touch is viewed as a new platform that will carry new programs and things to come from Apple.
Apple might see the ipod touch as the first mainstream wifi mobile platform, competing against the ultralight new windows based pc’s that are hitting the market. These handheld units carrying full blown windows are increasing in popularity, so the ipod touch might be Apple’s answer, taking it from music and video device to your ultimate handheld device.
Hopefully though Apple will move away from users having to pay for the ipod touch upgrades that might come!
