Cheapest Apple iPad have got live links to the pages that Currys, for some reason, don’t want you to see.It could well be that just as PC World are, Currys stock levels are under pressure, especially on the 3G models.
Watch the World Cup for Free
The good news for iPad owners is that thanks to a service called TVCatchup, you can watch the World Cup for free.
TVCatchup allows you to stream any of the UK Freeview channels live through your laptop, iPhone and now laptop. The service is free; all you have to do is complete a really quick registration, open up Safari and use the URL http://ipad.tvcatchup.com/
I found the picture quality to be really good, the only downside to the service was that there is a lag of a few seconds behind ‘normal’ TV so you might be celebrating any World Cup goals a little bit after everyone else.
Apple sells an iPad every 3 seconds
Although the main focus of WWDC 2010 was the new iPhone 4, Steve Jobs was also keen to remind the world about the ‘phenomenal’ success of the iPad. Apple sold 2 million iPad’s in 59 days which according to Steve’s Maths is 1 iPad every 3 seconds.
At the same time the Apple Chief Executive didn’t hide the fact that there had been some stock and supply problems. He said, “There’s a lot of demand for the iPad. It’s changing the way we experiencing the web. We’re making them as fast as we can, and we thank everyone for their patience.”
