Fanny Wang launches new headphone line in UK

When Fanny Wang first came onto the headphone market they were probably better known for being the company that got sued by Beats by Dr.Dre for allegedly copying their design and feature set. Since then we have not really heard much about Fanny Wang, but now they are ready to take on the UK market with a range of new headphones again.

Fanny Wang new headphone series

Fanny Wang was probably one of the first true competitors to Beats by Dr.Dre in the more urban/fashion conscious end of the headphone market, but they lacked the muscle behind the marketing to truly challenge them for the minds of the UK youth. With their new headphone range they are still focusing on the fashion and image conscious consumer, but perhaps hoping to strike a cord with the ones that don’t want to be too mainstream. Or as Brendan Dore, European Channel Development Manager, Fanny Wang says it; “The new Fanny Wang headphones offer music and fashion lovers in the UK the chance to make a statement and be different from the masses”.

The new Fanny Wang line up consists of 4 different models in a variety of color options. The top model is the Fanny Wang 3000 over ear noise cancelling series, featuring active noise cancelling and 6dB bass boost with a recommended retail price around £250. The 2000 DJ series is an over-ear design with a powered amp and 50mm dual plated drivers, and they feature the same bass boost feature as the 3000 series. The 2000 series has an RRP of just under £200. Fanny Wang 1000 on-ear series is the entry level on-ear model, featuring 40mm high performance drivers and of course the standard Fanny Wang dual jack solution for sharing your music with a friend. RRP for the 1000 series is just under £150. Rounding out the new range are the Fanny Wang Buds, an in-ear solution that has a tiny tweeter and woofer in each bud that are assisted by super sized air chambers for better sound flow. With an RRP of just under £70 the Wang Buds could be a contender, if the sound experience lives up to the specs that is.

The new Fanny Wang range is available in the UK from amongst other Amazon, Play.com, ASDA, Costco and The Headphone Company. See full press release below.

Fanny Wang launches coolest headphones in the UK

Designed with fashion and style in mind, trendsetting range delivers on sound-quality and performance

Fanny Wang, a leading international headphone company, has announced its new range of headphones with a set of new colours and features, including an in-line microphone, superior build quality, enhanced sound performance and an impressive bass boost feature. Stylish, long-lasting and comfortable to wear for long periods of time, the Fanny Wang headphones offer brilliant overall sound quality to rival top headphone brands, but also offer the trendy image conscious consumer with an alternative to the mass market ‘urban’ trend headphones.

Designed by a team of fashion and technology experts, the new Fanny Wang range consists of different styles of headphones, including ear-buds, on-ear and over-ear designs, with the top of the range model boasting Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology. Fanny Wang headphones come in a range of matt colours and feature the unique Fanny Wang duo jack technology which allows a user to share music with a friend (with no loss of sound quality), and the in-line microphone enables changing volume, pausing and playing music, skipping tracks and answering calls without the user reaching for an iPhone.

“The new Fanny Wang headphones offer music and fashion lovers in the UK the chance to make a statement and be different from the masses” says Brendan Dore, European Channel Development Manager, Fanny Wang. “Customers say they’ve never heard sound quality like it. The bass boost is big but never distorted, and the overall sound is balanced and impressive. Couple this with the cutting-edge design of the Fanny Wang’s, and there’s nothing more you’d want from a pair of headphones.”

The new Fanny Wang headphone range features 4 distinct models:

1000 On Ear series: The 1000 series is an on-ear design with 40mm high performance, titanium matched drivers. The incredible sound quality offers crystal clear mids and highs without overdoing the bass. The 1000 series comes with duo jack technology, enabling you to share your music with others by plugging in other headphones without any loss of sound quality whatsoever. The 1000 series headphones from Fanny Wang are available in white, orange, blue, green, and black. RRP: £149.95 incl. VAT

2000 DJ series: The 2000 series is an over-ear design with a powered amp and 50mm dual plated drivers to deliver the cleanest sound reproduction in its class. These headphones also come with a 6dB bass boost, which you can switch on and off as you wish. The 2000 series also boasts a built in 5 Watt solid state headphone amp, and comes with duo-jack technology as well as a hard shell carry-case for travel. The ear-cups provide efficient sound isolation to minimise background noise, and ensure that your music isn’t too loud for those around you. The 2000 series headphones from Fanny Wang are available in red, pink and black. RRP: £199.95 incl. VAT

3000 Over Ear Noise Cancelling series: The 3000 series is an over-ear design with four-way active noise cancelling (ANC) technology with a selectable 6dB bass boost. These headphones have been specifically engineered to actively eliminate over 95% of ambient noise. Two microphones measure noise levels from inside the ear cup and a further two microphones are used to measure ambient outside noise. Using these measurements, a cancelling signal is generated which stops any interfering noise. The ANC technology can be switched off, and your music can continue playing even if the battery power for the ANC technology has died. If the ANC technology is left on for more than 15 minutes without any music playing, it automatically switches off to conserve battery power. The 3000 series comes with duo-jack technology as well as a hard shell carry-case for travel. The 3000 series headphones from Fanny Wang are available in black, navy and white. RRP: £249.95 incl. VAT

Wang Buds: The Wang Buds sit outside your ear-canal, providing optimum comfort without compromising on sound. With a silicon design, the Wang Buds fit securely in your ear and also direct sound into your ear-canal without any damage or discomfort. Ear-buds may have a reputation for poor sound quality, but these offer headphone quality sound in just a small bud. Each Wang Bud has a tiny Tweeter and Woofer planted in it, and the super sized air chambers mean that there is more space for air movement than in any other ear-bud, creating thumping natural bass while keeping clear mids and highs. The Wang Buds are available in red, white or black. RRP: £69.95 incl. VAT

The 3000 series are amazing headphones. I tried other expensive headphones at Pc World, Currys, but by far the Fanny Wang 3000 are a winner for me! I bought mine on Okkio.co.uk, but to be fair…I am surprised they are available at ASDA :)
