Official: End of April launch for Apple iPad in UK

Apple has just announced the official release date for the Apple iPad in the US for April 3rd, while Europe and the UK will have to wait until the end of April (date to be confirmed) for the much anticipated iPad to be available for purchase.

It is the WiFi version that launches first in the US, with the 3G Apple iPad model coming towards end of April worldwide, which means that customers in the UK will see both models launching at the same time.

The release dates are more or less in line with what was expected following the Apple iPad launch event back in late January, where Steve Jobs promised that the WiFi version would be available within 60 days following the event, and the 3G Apple iPad within 90 days, which would take us towards the end of April.

US customers will however be able to pre-order both models of the Apple iPad from March 12 on Apple’s online store. When it hits stores it says that it will be available at Apple Stores as well as selected Apple authorized resellers.
