Denon and Marantz to offer Airplay feature upgrade to components

Both Denon and Marantz America are due to offer Apple Airplay music streaming capability for a range of existing network-enabled audio/video components in the near future through a feature firmware upgrade.

The feature firmware upgrade will provide these components with the ability to stream music from an iTunes collection wirelessly to the Airplay compatible device.

According to sources the feature Airplay upgrade is likely to happen for the following devices:

  • Denon AVR-4311CI
  • Denon AVR-3311CI
  • Denon AVR-991
  • Denon AVR-A100
  • Marantz Model SR7005 A/V Receiver
  • Marantz AV7005 A/V Preamplifier
  • Marantz NA7004 Network Audio Player
  • Marantz M-CR603 Networked CD Receiver

In addition to the above components, Denon demonstrated their new Denon CEOL Mini hi-fi earlier, which is also Apple Airplay ready.

The firmware upgrade from Denon and Marantz is expected to be available towards the end of November through their respective websites.
