Daisy from Beats by Dre to take on Spotify in 2013

Dr.Dre is already been announced as the richest man in hip hop, much thanks to his music and headphones empire. Now he is looking to increase his wealth by teaming up with Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor to launch a new music service called Daisy to rival Spotify.

The new music service from the two music powerhouses is expected to launch in mid 2013 to rival Spotify. The service is said to be similar, although Daisy hopes to differentiate themselves by relying more on human powered recommendations rather than just computerized ones. They call them ‘trusted filters’ and compares it to walking into a music store and having your own help that knows what you like, and can steer you in the right direction for new stuff as well. They refer to it as ‘intelligent curration’.

It will be interesting to see if this latest venture from Dr.Dre will prove once again that whatever he touches turns to gold.
