Creative has chosen bluetooth as the platform for their new range of Pure wireless speakers after considering Apple AirPlay, and they are not regretting it.
It is Macworld Australia that is reporting on Creatives choice of bluetooth over AirPlay for their latest speaker system; the Pure Wireless range which puts the company into the home sound system arena after being better know as a desktop speaker provider for the IT enthusiasts.
Creative believes the combination of the reach and flexibility of bluetooth, the apt-X audio codec superior bluetooth stereo audio, and their own expertise and ability to deliver high quality at affordable prices is the recipe for success for the new Pure Wireless range. According to reports it sounds like they might be on to a winner, creating a true alternative to Apple AirPlay speakers and the Sonos Zoneplayer system.
The Pure Wireless speaker system consist of the D5x, D3x, and the DSx wireless subwoofer. You can combine them however you want into a ZiiSound system set up around your house, adding them altogether wirelessly and controlling the sound coming from each unit with the clever new DSP that uses an active crossover to direct frequencies to each speaker unit.
According to Macworld Australia representatives the new Creative Pure Wireless system actually sounds great as well, so perhaps one to watch if you are looking for a wireless sound set up at home.
