Picking a compact wireless speaker with both DAB and FM radio these days is not easy, as there’s plenty to choose from. A new one throwing its hat in the ring is the KitSound Air Audio DAB/FM/Bluetooth Radio Speaker, a serious contender with its affordable price point, sleek looks, and good performance.
As the UK summer is drawing to an end once again, there’s still, hopefully, a good month or so left of being able to enjoy the outdoor, having a BBQ, and listening to music. The Kitsound Hive Discovery provides the flexibility of wireless music on the go, as well as waterproof should those late summer showers take you by surprise.
If what you are after is a solid performing portable bluetooth speaker that can take the elements, be used along the poolside without fearing that it will fall in and break, then the Ecoxgear Ecoxbt could be just the speaker you are after. With a little more functionality and finesse, this could be top performer in its class.
I’ve been impressed with Nordic audio companies for a while now when it comes to their product development, combining great product design with premium quality audio. Nocs is one of these companies, and their Nocs NS500 in-ear headphones does not disappoint.
The My Doodles Kids Dock feels like a nice and kids friendly product that not only will provide a safer storage solution for kids to leave their tablets on, but also provide them with a better audio experience while playing music or watching their favourite shows on their tablets.
In their price bracket, the Gadgeo GX-20 are a good option to consider should you be limited to max £20 budget. They provide good quality build and comfort, but overall the sound could be a bit more dynamic and balanced.
At just under £165 you will struggle to find better looking and performing wireless headphones than the House of Marley Liberate XL. Good and powerful sound combined with quality build and comfort is a winning recipe. See full review inside.
Overall the Quicksilver iPad Air Redemption sleeve from Proporta is a good and stylish protective sleeve for your iPad Air. It’s strengths are its light weight and that it’s spacious enough to allow for having your iPad Air in a case, such as a slim keyboard case, for ease of carrying around.
The House of Marley Liberate on-ear headphones provided a very enjoyable listening experience. They are lively both in sound and looks, and the fact that they are built using largely recycled or earth friendly materials is a bonus in my book. Read full review inside.
In a very competitive headphone market, the British newcomer Acorn Audio has done a decent job with their first pair of headphones in the wooden E1 in-ear model. Lightweight design and comfortable fit, but there are some room for improvements.
When Google finally announced that the Chromecast is available in the UK I couldn’t help myself, my curiosity took over and I ordered one. Having finally plugged it into the tv, I now find myself exploring the many great ways, and apps, to ‘cast’ my experiences from my smartphone, iPad, and macbook to the tv screen.
First time we came across the relatively new British audio manufacturer i-box was when they launched their Twist bluetooth speaker with its easy to recognize twisted design. They are now following up their first success with a new bluetooth portable speaker, this time adding NFC to the mix as well, in the i-box Trax.
SOL Republic is probably better known for their modular headphones, which in the US is closely connected to amongst other the NCAA and sports. With the Jax they are going in-ear and doing it with a range of stylish colors to match your personal style.
The Philips Fidelio P9 is still amongst the best portable wireless speakers in its category, delivering a warm and well balanced sound experience. With the deals available recently on the Fidelio P9, this is an absolute steal of a wireless speaker.
While I’m yet to test some of the biggest rivals for the Belkin QODE Ultimate, I’m very happy with this one. As someone that does a lot of typing, having a physical keyboard with the iPad Air just allows me to travel a lot lighter, not having to bring both a macbook and the iPad when out and about. Good functionality, splim profile, responsive keyboard, and great battery life (used for a month and yet to charge) makes the Belkin QODE Ultimate for iPad Air a winner in my book.
The Philips Fidelio M1 headphones have been around for a while now, so I have been a bit late to the party. That said, its better to be late than never, and the Fidelio M1 headphones are worth the wait, delivering well balanced sound in a ultra comfortable setting.
Despite its minor flaws, I can’t help but love the Libratone Loop. For me it delivers in heaps where it matters the most; design and audio performance. The Loop looks great and sounds great, making up for the relatively high price tag compared to some of the more mainstream wireless speakers out there.
Overall the Sol Republic Master Tracks is a great all-round headphone that performs well both at home and out and about. The audio is slightly bass-heavy, but otherwise well tuned with clear vocals. Definitely an alternative to consider if you are thinking headphones for everyday use.
