To Apple fans out there Bowers & Wilkins might be better known for their iconic B&W Zeppelin speaker dock, which includes the latest Zeppelin Air AirPlay model, but the this audio brand has also delivered us some high quality headphones over recent years, and with the new B&W P3 headphones they are hoping to build further on their reputation in the booming headphone market.
The P3 headphones are the little brother of the critically acclaimed B&W P5 headphones that were released well over a year ago now in the sense that they are smaller and more portable. However, they are said to feature pretty much the same quality in build and audio components, so there is no reason to believe that the performance of the P3 headphones will be anything less than what we have come to expect from Bowers & Wilkins.
Set for a June release, the B&W P3 on-ear headphones will be available in black or white, built from aluminum and rubber, memory foam ear cushions, and ultra-light acoustic fabric for improved sound. The custom drivers have terminals that are positioned for best possible airflow and to reduce any distortion. The headphones also come with two cables, one including on-cable remote for use with iOS devices, and a hard-shell protective case for storage when not in use.
The Bowers & Wilkins P3 headphones are set to retail at £170 when released in June. I hope to be back with a ears-on review when available.
