Due to its GSM shielding the Bose SoundDock II made the cut when we looked at iPhone 4 speaker docks and sound systems – providing good quality sound but perhaps a bit pricy.
Design, features & sound
The smaller of the models both in size and price might not strike you as a high quality iPod sound system at first glance, as the enclosure is very simple in design compared to many of the other docking stations in the market. However the build quality feels robust and solid, and most importantly, it does not feel plastic like so many other cheaper docking station.
Part of the reason Bose can charge a premium price is also the security you get knowing that it is a system from a well established and renowned brand.
Bose has been able to pack a well balanced and precise sound in the SoundDock Series 2 speaker dock. The balanced sound picture is reflected in the solid bass combined with crisp midrange, making the Bose SoundDock II a good choice if you are looking for a small system with quality sound.
Don’t expect the Bose SoundDock II to fill a large party room with overwhelming sound, but again, that is not what it is designed for. This is a nice quality home sound system from Bose.
