Behringer ditches size for AirPlay at this year CES

At last year CES show Behringer introduced the worlds largest speaker dock. This year they have downscaled and instead going for wireless technology with their AirPlay based Omni wireless speaker system.

Behringer Omni SP5i AirPlay active speaker

The new Omni system from Behringer includes a wireless receiver and active speakers that works with Apple Airplay streaming. Three active stereo speakers with built-in AirPlay, of which two of them (Omni SP3i and Omni SP5i) have built in active subwoofer, and the last one is a stand alone Airplay subwoofer.

For those that already have an existing HiFi set up or a set of speakers, but want to introduce Airplay wireless streaming to their system, Behringer is also introducing the Omni Link and the Omni amp. The Omni Link is designed to work with existing amplification or active speakers, whilst the Omni Amp has the addition of a 2x40W Class D amplifier and can be used with traditional speakers.

Behringer has a lot of confidence in their new AirPlay speaker product range ‘’Thanks to wireless technology and Behringer innovation, consumers can now link new and old systems to create their own personal broadcast empire without spending a fortune.’’
