If by any chance you have been watching American Idol this year then you might just recognize these latest Beats by Dr.Dre Pro Studio headphones on the heads of contestants and their mentors.
While the Beats by Dr.Dre are enjoying the massive PR and marketing associated with their celebrity endorsers and users, this could only have happened if the headphones were actually up to scratch when it comes to sound, which by all reports they are.
In black and metal/white and metal with the now very recognizable ‘b’ on the earcups, the design of these Beats by Dr.Dre Pro Studio headphones looks stylish and professional. The aluminum frame is lightweight and durable, they feature flip-up earcups, a good feature for the DJ’s out there, and the ear-cup cushions are actually washable, so no need to worry about sweat smelling ear-cups after long use.
Inside there are proprietary driver technology to deliver the high quality sound expected from a Pro Studio headphone, and they are designed to ensure a hard driving bass sound without it overpowering the balanced sound needed for their target market. Having not had a chance to review them yet, i can’t comment on my own sound experience from the Beats by Dr.Dre Pro Studio headphones, but amongst other Cnet have given them a strong rating. Amazon UK customer rating is also on the positive side.
One thing to always remember when it comes to sound is that everyone has different preferences, and the best thing is to give them a try first if possible to find out if they have a sound that you like. Based on reports, the Beats by Dr.Dre Pro Studio headphones are on the bass-heavy side.
The Beats by Dr.Dre Pro Studio headphones are available from amongst other the following UK retailers.
